Lake Powell will forever hold such a special place in my heart. Not only for the beauty and uniqueness BUT, this is actually where myself and now fiancé met! I was completely blown away by the deep blue waters, marble canyons, and history of this magical place. So when our couple asked for a boho Lake Powell elopement, we were so game!
My favorite end of the lake is on the Utah/Arizona border. It is only about 4.5 hours away from Las Vegas so it makes for a short little trip from the big city of lights. You’ll get to drive through desert and small canyon towns to end up at the desert oasis. Lake Powell basically looks like the Grand Canyon got filled up with water. To really appreciate the beauty you must check it out for yourself!
Ashley and Dylan wanted an adventurous day and that is exactly what they got when it came to their boho elopement experience at Lake Powell. They both wanted their day to be all about the two of them and what they were here celebrating, the beginning of their love story.
We started with a small hike onto one of the breathtaking overlooks along the lake. Ceremony took place and they read their vows personally together away from the cameras. It was such a special moment. Intimate, memorable, and just about the two of them. We all had a little cry session and then it was onto the sweetheart table!
Ashley and Dylan weren’t the biggest fans of cake. Totally get it right? Sometimes if you aren’t a super sweet person, you may want to only have a snack size bite and carry on with the day! We decided to go with some cake pops instead to set the mood. Just enough to cure the sweet tooth but, not too much that you don’t know what to do with the rest of your dessert afterwards! Also, can we just talk about this boho styled sweetheart table? IT IS TO DIE FOR. My favorite part about working with badass couples!
Since we had plenty of time for some couples portraits we decided to take a small break and then create some magic in the nighttime! We jumped in the car and started to explore. We found a super isolated desert patch decided hmm… Let’s use the props we had! So now headlight pictures are my new favorite thing! We swirled up the desert sand a little & created some of the most epic nighttime pictures I have every seen. The jeep we used was totally the vibe we were going for. The headlights were also the perfect height for this couple!
Also this first veil picture? YES, I am alllll about it.
