The First Look is the first time you see your future spouse on your wedding day! Traditionally it is done at the beginning of the ceremony during the walk down the aisle. These days many couples choose to do it privately beforehand or skip it all together and get ready together! It is your day and you should do whatever feels right. Still on the fence about when or how to do it? Read on…
Photos – taking photos before your ceremony can save time. If you’ve already seen each other you can take your wedding photos prior. This helps to not take any time away from enjoying your reception. It also gives your photographer the opportunity to choose the best location and lighting so that these reaction photos will be perfect.
Ease Nerves – if your the type of person who gets nervous with all eyes on you, a private first look can be a better option. It will be more stress free having the focus be on the moment and be able to express your emotions without the pressure.
Moments Together – on your wedding day you’ll be surrounded by all your loved ones but its nice to have a time with just the two of you. Some couples even choose to read their vows during this time making it a more intimate experience.
Lots of Options– There are many different options for doing a first look before ceremony. Couples do first looks at the hotel such as on the balcony, beautiful places at the hotel location, or locations outside of the hotel such as on the Las Vegas Strip when in Vegas. Others will choose to do the first look at the ceremony location just before ceremony.
WALKING DOWN THE AISLE
Big Moment – for lots of people this is the moment they dream of on their wedding day. Waiting until the ceremony lets all of their emotions build up and creates a memory you’ll never forget.
Tradition – Not seeing the bride before the ceremony comes from pre-18th century time, when it was “unlucky” for a bride and groom to see each other. If you are superstitious you might want to stick to this practice.
Includes everyone – your loved ones will get to be a part of this moment and experience it with you. This is a moment you will cherish forever.
