With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I as well have been trying to figure out what to do and how to top last years! Have no fear, the love gurus at Ember and Stone Events have come up with the most unique valentines day gift and date ideas for you. And no, these ideas don’t need to be just for Valentine’s Day, you can do them whenever you are looking to have a date night.
1.Take out tour
This is for those days where you decide to get take out, but can never figure out what you want to eat. Make this valentine’s day a foodie day! You can put a bunch of restaurants or fast food spots in a hat and choose some places. Or do a three-round course of rock, paper, scissor and who ever wins each round gets to pick a spot. It’s always fun to see what you come up with for apps, dinner and of course dessert. I mean after all the holidays are about food, am I right?
2.At home cook-off
Let the competition begin! If you’ve never had an at home cook-off, I would definitely recommend this. It’s fun, creative and hilarious. This is one of T and I’s favorite at home date night idea. There are two ways to do this. You can both be given a limited amount of time to make a dish & to spice it up you can also pick out crazy ingredients for them to come up with a dish (think Chopped!) or have a certain food cook off. Whichever one you choose, I guarantee you will both have fun!
3.Movie series marathon
If you and your partner are always running around, then a cozy movie series marathon could be just what you need. There are so many great movie series you can binge like Harry potter, Star Wars, Lord of The Rings, Marvel, Saw, The Hunger Games and much more. Another way you can do this is to pick an actress/actor and watch every movie they have ever been in. Lastly, depending on your location, you can plan this movie marathon for indoors or outdoors. Oh and don’t forget the snacks!
Since valentine’s day is about love, what better way then to create a unique special link for you and your partner. Not only does this make a great date but it also makes a great present as well. Rather than closing a bracelet or necklace with a clasp, a jeweler will weld the two ends together making it permanent.
For the adventure seekers, doing a scavenger hunt, but making it romantic, is such a fun way to spend the day. There are a ton of romantic scavenger hunts on Google or Pinterest that you can find. If you want more of a customizable scavenger hunt, check out the scavenger box. Or if you are looking to do one together the adventure challenge might just be for you. Rather than great date ideas, this spicy adventure is designed to promote closeness.
This is where knowing each others love language comes into play.
1. For the music lovers
There is nothing more personal than having a “song” with the person you love. Whether it be your wedding song, a song that reminds you of them, or maybe a song that was playing when you first kissed. These custom pieces are a great way to showcase that special song and makes a great statement piece that everyone will want to hear. And if you really want to surprise them check out Songfinch. This is definitely a fun way to show someone you love them by getting a custom song written about the both of you.
2.The traditional lovers
When in doubt the traditional route is the way to go. To really elevate the traditional style gift sign up your significant other for a flower subscription. This way it’s not just Valentine’s Day they get flowers but they will get flowers sent just because its a Tuesday. Here are some of our favorite flower subscription boxes Fresh Sends, Bloomsy Box, 1-800 Flowers, and if flowers aren’t your thing you can also sign up for a house plant subscription over at Hey Horti.
3.The homebody lovers
There is no place like home! Literally the great thing about staying in with your person? You don’t have to leave the place you love. Here are the best stay at home Valentine’s Day gifts. For the morning couple or coffee lovers start off the morning slow. There’s nothing like a French Press or Drip Coffee and we cant forget a deep coffee cup! The cozy couple who just want to relax and cuddle with a lush blanket or spend the day in some comfy pajamas (sign me up!). Talk about relaxing some bath bombs and bath salts with some lavender essential oil going. This is something you can both enjoy!
4.The foodie lovers
Talk about a unique Valentine’s day gift. Heat things up and surprise your partner with a hot and spicy spice collection like a hot sauce kit from The Hot Ones or The Spice House. Maybe you have a cultural foodie on your hand a subscription to Universal Yums will for sure have the foodie inside them excited.
As we mentioned earlier these unique Valentine’s Day gift and date ideas don’t need to be just for Valentines day. Even though this day is based on showing love to one another. These could be used for a weekly date night, anniversary, or just because. Everyday is a special day! We are sending you guys love, kisses and Valentine’s Day wishes!
