When it rains, it POURS! Having an outdoor wedding can be risky, even in Las Vegas!! While known for its summer sun, it still rains here and desert grounds are not the best at absorbing water. And that is why, no matter where your outdoor location is, you should have a contingency plan! Because Mother Nature does what Mother Nature wants! When you hire us as planners, though, we GOT YOU. We have been through it all and seen it all, so a little rain storm? No problem. We move on to plan B & make it the best damn day ever still!

The Ceremony

R+D had their wedding day location planned to happen on a beautiful dry lake bed. The day before, though, there was a torrential down pour. Rain, plus a dry lake bed, equals mud. It was a muddy mess. Fit for a jeep and four wheeler, but not fit for any type of wedding and definitely no heels. But when faced with adversity, we pivot. While we always hope for the best, we always prepare of the unexpected and we went with our second option, Cactus Joe’s! We were so incredibly lucky the ground was still in tact. The clouds cleared, the sun came shining through, and we had a beautiful, intimate outdoor wedding and reception.
