The style that’s trending!
What is a natural & organic wedding? A natural and organic wedding is a combination of simple elegance, earthy elements, and the whimsical aesthetic of mother nature. This style of wedding is often but not necessarily taken place in an outdoor venue. This wedding is all about incorporating lots of florals and greenery centering the beauty of nature.

Choose eco-friendly Invites
Eco-friendly and sustainable wedding invitations are a great way to kick off your natural and organic styled wedding. This allows your guest to know you want to celebrate your love with some love for the planet. One of my favorite earth friendly stationeries is on seed paper. Seed paper is a biodegradable material that you can plant in a pot of soil and grows into flowers. Other alternatives are recycled paper, upcycled fabric, upcycled leather, or digital invitations to reduce environmental impact.
Here are some eco-friendly brands that are serious about sustainability and modern design! Cody Calligraphy, Feather and Stone, Flower Seed Paper, and Paper Culture.
Marry in the great outdoors
This is a great way to be one with nature: a lush forest, rolling hills, gardens, or a picturesque vineyard are all stunning spots to say, “I Do” When choosing a scenic outdoor location they often speak for itself and provide amazing backdrops and really set the tone for your natural and organic wedding. Bring in elements like wildflowers or greenery to tie it all together! Fun fact, booking a wedding at a national park helps provide funding for its conservation and many of its fees include proceeds for clean up efforts. And not to mention the amount of energy usage you’ll save, thank you sunshine! What’s even better is the beautiful photographs you will get!
If the great outdoors isn’t your vision then look for hotels or event spaces that have certifications in Leadership in energy & environmental design (LEED) and energy star ratings!
Décor
Incorporating natural wedding décor can bring an earthy, romantic, and organic feel to your special day. The natural style is becoming more popular due to its versatility, sustainability, and elegance. Focus on florals and greenery, neutral colors, and natural materials like wood and rattan. Wooden accents can bring a touch of warm and natural texture. Also, incorporate natural elements like potted plants, driftwood, seashells, fruits, and rocks.
If you are are going for more of a wild side of nature and are a colorful bride, incorporate colorful and whimsical florals, wildflowers, & dried flowers.
Natural & Organic with a Pop of Color!
Farm to table menu
Look for caterers who focus on locally sourced ingredients and seasonal cuisine. You can also consider adding or doing a vegan or vegetarian menu. The more local, the smaller the carbon footprint from long distance shipping. The same goes for wine as well. Look for natural, organic, and biodynamic bottling. To reduce the food waste, opt for plated dinners to avoid excess food.
Sustainable Wedding Dress
There are several ways you could go about your wedding dress. A sustainable wedding dress could be one that is thrifted, made from recycled or eco-friendly materials or produced solely in a local studio. It could be a dress that has been or will be used more than once. You can also rent or buy pre-owned from past brides. Materials you want to look for are organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, silk, and some brands can make dresses vegan from synthetic fiber.

While throwing confetti is not environmentally conscious, there are plenty of alternative ways for guests to celebrate this special moment that are just as pretty, or do I dare say prettier! Not to mention it won’t wreak havoc on the local ecosystem. Some alternatives are lavender, fresh herbs, eucalyptus leaves, dried flowers, biodegradable confetti, rose petals, or bubbles! Be sure to check with your venue with what restrictions they may have!
