You’re planning out your perfect day. You’re thinking to yourself, do I want an Aisle that’s circular or a runaway? You can see your one true love dressed to the nine, a tear shimmering in their eye. You’re wearing the perfect dress! Everything is coming together, except you have no idea what kind of aisle you want to walk down!
Don’t worry, dear! Help is on the way!!
The wedding processional is starting. It’s time for your grand entrance. Here is where you make your statement. Who are you? What is your style? What do you want to present to your guests the first time they see you?
Aisles can be set up in a variety of ways! The possibilities are endless. They range, however, within two main designs:
The Runway
or
The Circle
Let’s look at The Runway. This aisle design is a much more traditional style. The chairs are lined evenly on each side of the aisle. The aisle focuses directly on the very end, where the ceremony will be held. As you begin your walk, your guests will be standing on each side of you and behind you once the ceremony begins. There are multiple ways to make it your own, and that is what we are here for! Let’s look at how to design your runway aisle.
Even though the runway is a more traditional design, we at Ember and Stone will help you create a design that is all your own!
The simple and minimalist trend is super popular right now! Using the elements of your location, add simple white florals or, like the photo above, white non-lit candles to give your aisle a little more runway feel.
Flowers are one of the most versatile and unique styles that can truly create your perfect vision. Adding flowers to your runway gives each of your guests a view of who you are and what your style is! We helped this beautiful bride create her perfect bridal runway using all-white florals with dashes of greenery.

This new trend of a circular aisle is a great option for multiple reasons. The location of your wedding, and the size of your wedding create a feeling of intimacy with your guests.
When creating a circular aisle location can be a big reason to use this style. Your backdrop is a beautiful setting with unique views from every angle. The circular runway gives your guests access to view from all these different angles. Some locations are tight or have some challenges. Using the circular aisle can combat that so you can fit all of your guests into your ceremony.
Your wedding guest size can play a massive impact on the type of aisle design you have. It’s important to think that your venue may not fit all of your guests in a runway aisle. But a circular aisle gives you the option to fit so many more people into your ceremony.
The reason for a circular aisle is to essentially “surround yourself in love.” Even if you have up to 200 guests, the circular aisle and ceremony can make it feel like each guest is right there, part of your special day. As bride and groom, you can each look out and see your guests as you prepare to say your I Do’s. See your loved ones all together as you take this step forward in with your partner.
It all can seem overwhelming. Trying to create the perfect moment. That is where we come in! Ember and Stone focus exactly on your vision. We take all the stress can create moments that are magical.
