With the holiday season approaching us, it’s time to take out the good china, pop open a nice bottle of wine, and throw on the hosting hat baby! Thanksgiving is actually my favorite holiday. Maybe it’s the food, maybe it’s the wine, or maybe it’s the fact that I will be hosting Thanksgiving! If you have ever hosted before, you definitely know it can also be a very stressful bringing everyone together, cooking & cleaning! However, creating a beautiful space to welcome your family & friends can go along way to reduce stress and cultivate relaxation, gratitude and togetherness. What Thanksgiving is truly all about!
Now I’m not here to give you grandma’s famous mac & cheese recipe, or mom’s homemade stuffing, but I am here to help you on how to style the perfect Thanksgiving table! So here are my three favorite designs for this upcoming season.
Natural elements are the easiest way to create a simple, fall inspired table that is clean and elegant. Having a monochromatic color palette with accents of gold, brown, and black really bring this look together. I’m a big fan of dried arrangements! Not only do they look gorgeous, you can also use them for multiple seasons. Or if you live in an area that you get to experience the leaves changing, you can always go out and grab some colorful leaves to bring in a pop of color. Thanksgiving is a great time to utilize the left over pumpkins from Halloween as well. These white pumpkins are absolutely perfect for this minimal, clean, & organic theme.
If you want to take your hosting up a notch, put out some custom name cards or a menu card on the plate! This will have your family and guests impressed! Etsy or our Amazon Storefront is a great place to look and is super affordable.
You can never go wrong with the flickering glow of a candle to set the mood. Foliage is a great way to bring in some texture and add layers to the table. Some of the best places you can find foliage includes Hobby lobby, Trader Joes, and Michaels. With having such a dark tablescape, adding in some bright elements like the tangerine is such a unique idea.
To really set the mood & elevate your guests experience, create a Thanksgiving playlist! Having a curated playlist really sets the tone for the entire night! One creative and funny way to create a list, is to ask for two songs from each guest and add it in. This way everyone gets to listen to there favorite song!
As we know that color is making a comeback this year, which I am all for. I FELL in love with these tablescapes. I love the warmth a little colored glass gives. Adding color to a table can be so fun! You can add color with candles or candle holders, florals, napkins, plates, glasses, or pumpkins (in this case). Even having an assortment of textures and patterns alongside sleeker elements pair well with a colorful palette.
If Thanksgiving dinner really isn’t your thing or you want to change it up from the norm. These fun, refreshing tablescapes would be great for Thanksgiving brunch or Thanksgiving lunch!
The Cool Kids Table
If your family is as big as mine, then you know there are two types of tables at holiday dinners. There’s the adult table and then there’s kids table. I absolutely love the idea of having activities at the kids table. It’s a great way to make the holiday special, and it keeps them busy while allowing the adults to enjoy their time.
A fun way to dress up the kids table is having a colorable tablecloth! It is such a cute and creative idea! You can add crayons, colored pencils, and even some stickers for them. Coloring books are also a super cute. It is great to have one for each kid at the table that is personable to them.
How to style the perfect thanksgiving table is just as important as the turkey, Am I right or am I right?
